Jane Austen at Home: A Biography
by Lucy Worsley
emotional
informative
inspiring
reflective
medium-paced
I loved this.
From the outset Lucy Worsley lets the reader know that “This is, unashamedly, the story of my Jane, every word of it written with love.”
It really is.
You can hear Lucy Worsley’s voice, who is a wonderful storyteller and narrator, in the text and she paints a worts and all picture of Jane, the Austen’s, and Jane’s legacy.
I was able to confirm some details, learnt a few new ones, and, best of all, been left with an appetite and curiosity to know more about Jane Austen, Cassandra Austen, and the world privileged enough to have had the Austen sisters live in it.
