I love Michael Bennett as a character. I really do. He’s such a great hero because he’s a single dad after losing his wife to cancer raising their 10 adopted kids ... but hot damn these books can get to be over the top sometimes.
I love a good detective book but sometimes I wish Michael could leave NYC and not run into crime at every turn. I would have been perfectly happy reading about his family vacation because it’s his character that makes the stories great.
I still liked the plot line, it wasn’t what I thought it was going to be but it was still good. I’m curious to see what happens in the next one ... because we all know there will be a next one.
