I am so glad I reread this. Or listened to the audio book. This is still my favourite book in the series. While the movie brought several scenes a visual element that can only be experienced in that media. However, I had forgotten how it had twisted many of the scenes. Some depth was lost there for future books and movies. Anyway, the Triwizard tournament the quidditch world cup, the Yule ball, some of the issues lingering between Harry, Rob and Hermione either get felt with or stop coming to light. We meet all of the Weasley's. And more adult stuff comes up. You can see Dumbledore trusting them a bit more and being a bit more transparent. Obviously, Voldemort is back and Cedric. Love, infatuation and other teenage issues make bigger impacts on all their lives too. But overall, the plot is heavier, the characters have more depth, but its all still mostly positive and happy. After this everything gets progressively darker.
