Love in Flames - the final installment to the Daring Series. Received and ARC of this one from the author in exchange for an honest review.
First - the story was pretty good. There’s a ton of steam in it and when I’m looking for a romance read that’s what I want - the steamier the better. This one checks that box many times. It starts out slow but speeds up within the first five chapters.
Second - this is honestly my harshest critique on it - once stuff started happening it felt like everything happened. The drama surrounding the fire was great - but then there was added drama that felt unnecessary and forced to me.
Third - the main plot line was quite interesting! The plot line involving the fire was actually secondary to the main plot, which in the other books in this series (quarantine and tragedy) the title basically told the story. For this one, the main female character is sent to find the main male character and then all hell breaks loose (quite literally if you believe hell involves fire). The two ending up running together and eventually the truth of their initial encounter comes out - which is why it seems to me this is the main plot line. Everything comes back to that, which is a good thing especially for this story.
Overall four star read. I’d absolutely recommend if you’re looking for a quick steamy read.
