More like a 3.5, but we're rounding up. The book does set the universe and the characters very well, but I like a little more introspection. Then again, it's mostly an adventure book, so maybe not the place for the character-driven complex plots I like, though the political aspects that appear here are very interesting and I hope we get to see more of them in the next books.
