I loved reading this manga. The story moves so quickly between each plot point, both minor and major, that somehow doesn't lose anything along the way. I feel like it just adds to the overall world-building and character growth and helps build it in the process. The characters were well developed, likeable, and felt very much like people. Also, it's nice that Maomao definitely doesn't fit the typical characteristics you'd expect to see in a FMC, so it's a nice change of pace and adds an interesting touch to the world and characters around her.
Initially, I had seen this manga in bookstores and thought it would be a potential series for me to read, but the decision to pick it up and read it wasn't truly solidified until I saw a few reels/clips of the anime adaptation that really got me to start reading it before watching the anime. I'm glad that I picked it up and will continue reading/watching the anime at some point!
