On The Rebound by L.A. Cotton
5.0

This is my first book by this author, but I seem to be reading a lot of new adult sports romances right now, so it is fitting right in. And I was sucked in right away from the very beginning. This book had so much tension and the author made it so I needed to know what happened between Calli and Zach from the very beginning, but she kept me hanging, in a good way, for almost the entire book it seemed. Even not knowing what had happened, there was something between the two that couldn’t be denied, and the intensity just jumped off the pages at me. There was a lot of hate, but so much lust. The scenes where they got together were so hot, definitely left me fanning myself while reading them! Poor Callie had not only her ex-boyfriend who had seemed to drop her with no reason, but she had a brother who was not much of a family member. And Zach was dealing with everyone putting him on a pedestal to replace his brother, but not necessarily getting to know him as a person.

In the end we got a little help from someone outside of the situation in a way, and I feel like that was the perfect way to do that. Even with how mean Zach was to Callie at times, there was one situation about halfway through that showed he really was a good guy, and made you see probably what his and Callie’s relationship had been like when they’d first gotten together, before that one defining moment.

Since this is part of a series, I am hoping we get Callie’s friend Josie’s story next. I’m not a big fan of her brother though, I don’t care for how he ended up dealing with things. And the whole not messing with a teammate’s sister is sooooooooooo maddening! Made me want to scream at the extremes they took it to. I was blown away by this book and how much I got wrapped up in it. I guess I have a new to me author to catch up on all the good stuff with!
