Two timelines, one five years ago, when Mia met Grace, where Grace left and they never talked again. One current day, where Mia and her crew of reconstructors go to the mystical land called The Staircase in the hopes of reuniting Mia and Grace.

What I Liked:
[a: Tillie Walden|13560692|Tillie Walden|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1525905931p2/13560692.jpg]'s art style is absolutely beautiful. The magical realism and the coloration is really amazing.

The coloration of the scenes change depending on the time or location. That made distinguishing the different timelines and locations much easier.

What I Didn't Like:
Since this is a graphic novel, not a lot of information is directly given to us. This means there were some times where I was confused on who was there in a specific scene, or where things were happening at.

This always happens with graphic novels, but I didn't have any connection to any character or couple. It's much harder to get emotion or any characteristics out of people in book format without written text, and as a result, everyone seemed very flat and one sided.

Overall:
This really wasn't a bad book. It just wasn't special.
