I am not so quick to forget exactly how Sofia acted and how she treated others in the first book of the series. Moreover, I do not think she had much growth at all in her very own book, and remained relatively the same, just maybe slightly softer due to falling in love and getting a HEA. There's a lot more to unpack here as well. First of all, we have a Native American for a MMC but the way he was portrayed was just... not good. Like, anyone reading this could tell this was not a good representation of Native Americans. The beginning where Sofia is a child was off, because it was very clear and adult was trying to write as a child and it just did not come out right. Sofia is also a grown woman and does not know how to do basic things in life? She is seriously a spoiled brat and it's hard to read a book where a character like her is supposed to be redeemed. Nope.
