Wow, I really love this series. I think each book is unique and complex in its own way because each brother, depite growin up in the same uber religious household with a terrible pastor father, walked away with their own set of trauma that differs. All in all it's religious trauma and I love the exploration of this, but each brother has a different set of issues and it's so fascinating, how each of their lives is affected and their stories. I find Lucas to be the least like his father, and it shows, but he tries so hard to not be like his father in any way that it has led him to being closed off and guarded, and married to his work. He meets his student Sadie, who he takes a special interest in and wants to help her because she's pregnant and he, a Dom, wants to teach her how to have better choices. While I wasn't entirely pleased with the way Lucas was as a Dom and I thought Sadie could be quite immature at times and didn't understand why she was so obsessed with Jax, I did enjoy the book. I loved Lucas's journey and how he discovered himself, especially healing from his religious trauma. I am most excited for Isaac's story though!
