I really enjoyed this - sort of like a rated R for violence jane Austen mashup with dinotopia that was very easy to quickly immerse in. I especially enjoyed the humor of the authorial intrusions that endcapped
some of the scenes and chapters. The world building and scene setting were terrific but the interior voices and dialogue are what made this dark romantic comedy of gender, law, society, religion & manners so readable !
