To Sir Phillip, With Love by Julia Quinn
3.0

I’m sad I didn’t enjoy this one as much as I did the others in the series. The story just didn’t captivate me the same way. I did really enjoy the interaction between Eloise and Philip’s children, but I think I’d just expected more from Eloise’s story. Since she’s one of my favourite characters (at least in the Netflix series), I might have had too high standards for her. Her character fell kind of flat and she felt very generic to me. Not something I would’ve ever expected to say about Eloise. Very disappointing.

Philip was quite an interesting character and I did like him, some of the time, but like all of the male characters in this series he definitely has his issues. He has no idea how to be a father to his children and I guess that’s what the story is largely about, but I found his character development very minimal. The romance also wasn’t that great. He’s basically just looking for a mother for his children and hey, how convenient is it that she also fills his needs in the bedroom
