Darling Rose Gold
by Stephanie Wrobel
such well done psychological suspense.
i really enjoyed how this book played with the mother petty and her need to declare herself innocent of making her child sick on purpose and never seeing anything wrong with what ever it is she does but rather that everyone else is at fault if something goes wrong.
for me that was such a believable characteristic of a person like her. someone that so clearly does thing wrong -you should not ever want to poison anyone but especially your own child!- but believes firmly that she didn’t do anything wrong at all. and is so controlling and self important and could never believe that her own daughter might be not this meek little sick creature anymore.
and rose gold!
such a fantastic character!
i loved how at first she struggled but also was very manipulative -clearly she learned well from her mother!- to get what she wanted but in subtle ways.
i really liked how this entire story played out, showing just how dangerous manipulative upbringing can be.
for me this entire book was just such a well done suspense. it’s not a thriller and not a crime novel, we know what has been done and see what’s going on and that’s wrong but it’s not about that it’s about personal things.
so if you want a well done psychological suspense that’s super fast to read but still well done and has such horrible but still well written characters?
this book is a great one!
