Cool for the Summer by Dahlia Adler
4.0

This was a really sweet LGBTQIA+ story about Lara, a high school senior. She's been crushing on Chase (a really good guy), the football quarterback for as long as she (and a lot of people) can remember.
But the summer before senior year, she is at the beach with her mom at her mom's boss's beach house along with his daughter Jasmine. Lara has a summer fling with Jasmine and when the school year starts-Jasmine is there.

I liked seeing Lara and how she is figuring out who she is and wants to be. I love that she's a bookish girl who loves romances . She starts dating Chase while still crushing on Jasmine and I like that she isn't quite sure how to define herself but that she's ok with it. I like the Jewish representation in the book through Jasmine and her mom.

I read this YA book in one sitting and it just brought a smile to my face. I really enjoyed it.
(Also, through this book I learned that the book title is a Demi Lovato song)
