While still true to Acevedo writing I have come to love in the past. The more adult subject matter, and actions taken both uncomfortable and moving the novel, as a whole just didn't come together. Some of the characters felt more like moving pieces to an ever-growing puzzle, while others felt to real for the story being told. 

Overall, outside of the countdown for what's to come and some beautiful lines. This is my least favorite Acevedo yet. I would read more adult from her in the future, and more things overall. Just a personal misfire from normally a five-star author, for me personally.
