A nonstop fantasy adventure that would be great for upper elementary or reluctant middle grade readers. The pace of the silliness and the one-note characters begged me to skim a bit, but I think most 3rd to 5th graders would enjoy it.

Nine is a hardened-by-circumstances pickpocket with a secret soft spot for books, kindly trolls, and, as it turns out, found families on ridiculous flying-house adventures. Tasked with breaking a curse that has very high stakes for the inhabitants of the magical house, she rises to the occasion with courage and intelligence. And just the slight flicker of developing good humor and fondness.
