This book is pretty big but it's definitely worth the read! I never got bored or felt like I was struggling to get to the next part, it's actually pretty fast paced. The ending jumped around quite a bit but everything made sense and the author did a good job of keeping the reader from getting lost. It was so fun to see how Cristo got his revenge and made powerful bonds with other people along the way. Cristo also had a good amount of self reflection when he might have gone too far. Adventurous, accessible, and some parts even made me laugh out loud! I especially loved Mademoiselle Eugenie, who values her independence and wants to pursue her dreams of being a musician. There are a few aspects of the book that haven't aged well, like Cristo owning slaves and his relationship with Haidee is kind of weird. The length might be intimidating but I would highly recommend giving this book a try!!
