This book would have been a lot less dry had I just eaten it instead.
Apart from the obvious racism, ableism, classism and absolutely horrendous character- and worldbuilding and the very… questionable writing style, it was okay. Definitely not a book for me.
(Edit: why does the author feel like the reader is too dumb to understand the plot? Everything kept on being repeated and all relevant points are given to you in the most obvious form ever. Just wasn’t fun to read when you could basically tell the whole book from the first few pages and as soon as something new and powerful was mentioned, you knew Violet would get her hands on it anyway)
