Torture to Her Soul
by J.M. Darhower
This was a roller coaster of a ride and I definitely needed to follow through on this story. I won't say that I absolutely adored this one like I did book one, (for certain reason) but I did enjoying see how this played out especially for Karissa. Now this book is in the hero's POV, which was different, and not what I expected but enjoyed seeing his side of things. But even with seeing his POV, there was still that "air" of mystery surrounding him like a cloak and I do love that in my heroe's especially the bad boy kind. This story is packed with so much angst and conflict that I just wanted to scream and cry for these two people that are just caught in some horrible situations and have to deal with some elements that test their relationship. I will be honest that I didn't feel as connected to this couple as I did in the first book. Maybe its due to what happens in the first book, and I felt like there was this divide between the two leads that didn't truly get resolved until the very very end. I just wanted to see more of what was to come for them. But at the same time, my heart broke for what they both experience throughout this book, they definitely have their share of hardships but through it all they find their way together. Its a story that really will challenge and push the reader's limits at times but well worth it in the end to follow through with this couple. And now I am apprehensive in seeing what they will face in book three. Not sure if I will read it right away or give it a few days and get some lighter reads packed in. Because all this angst is making this reader moody.
Overall while I enjoyed this installment and seeing the growth of the characters and the development of their relationship, I felt it lacking in some areas, and hope that the final installment will bring full satisfaction.
