You'll Be the Death of Me
by Karen M. McManus
mysterious
tense
fast-paced
The day that Ivy, Mateo, and Cal decide to ditch school (Ivy because she just lost an election to Brian "Boney" Mahoney and didn't want to hear his speech) is the day that they see Boney also not at school and he is killed.
Suspicion is immediately cast on Ivy from the kids at school because of a rumor that a blonde person may have killed him.... And Ivy is blonde.
This book just keeps its momentum up throughout the whole thing. I hated that the school just jumped to the conclusion that "Ivy did it" when there are such bigger parts at play than a girl that just didn't happen to be at school.
The only reason I didn't give this a 4 star was the ending. It felt a bit abrupt even though something is revealed that COULD make for a sequel.
