My Fine Fellow
by Jennieke Cohen
I very much enjoyed this. While not a huge fan of My Fair Lady, I have seen it, am familiar with some of the music. Enough so that the names here ... Elijah Little, Helena Higgins, Penelope Pickering. If that wasn't enough, the whole time period is an alternate timeline where "Culinarians" are the elite. Just as I'd once said that [b:The Selection|10507293|The Selection (The Selection, #1)|Kiera Cass|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1322103400l/10507293._SY75_.jpg|15413183] is a crazy mix of Hunger Games and The Bachelor ... this is My Fair Lady and The Great British Baking Show/Chopped! I'm NOT into gourmet food, so some of the extensive descriptions were a little over my head, but I'm sure enjoyed a lot by others.
This also felt a tad reminiscent of [b:Etiquette & Espionage|10874177|Etiquette & Espionage (Finishing School, #1)|Gail Carriger|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1331952557l/10874177._SX50_.jpg|15789500] - not with any paranormal creatures or steampunk, but similar humor and banter between characters, set up with a school (not your normal education), and of course, the british accents, the basic setting and such.
Definitely thumbs up from me.
