i’m conflicted. this is between a 2-3 star read for me. i can’t really decide.
the overall drama in this book – that has spanned through the entire series – was *chefs kiss* it literally felt like a telenovela. but this book centered on setting the scene for the next book a lot, and that made rafaele and cleo’s story more interesting than ras and gemma’s, the protagonists of this story.
another thing, i adored ras from the beginning but it took me a while to warm up to gemma. there was just something about her personality that i didn’t like and i spent a good portion of the book hoping my opinion would improve… it lowkey didn’t. i’m indifferent to her.
ras and gemma’s relationship was the definition of a forbidden romance. why it’s advertised as an enemies-to-lovers makes no sense to me. either way, their relationship? a complete rollercoaster.
