The Nightmare Before Kissmas
by Sara Raasch
funny
lighthearted
medium-paced
A fun little twist on a bunch of holidays but focusing on Christmas and Halloween (probably the most commercial and beloved holidays).
The Prince of Christmas, Coal, is announced to wed the Princess of Easter, Iris, but to make it look like a competition, the Prince is Halloween, Hex, is made to come to "vie for her hand" too. The problem(s)? The two Princes kissed each other years ago and Coal and Iris love each other as friends but don't want to marry.
Coal and Hex are so into each other and I can't believe that no one besides Iris and Coal's brother Kris notices! I love the "fake" outside appearance but love even more when the two Princes get private moments. The text chain between the Christmas boys and Iris always has me LOL'ing. I like when Coal calls out his dad at the end, it's a wake up moment the King needed.
