This is my first book of the author, and I was impressed with the story from its opening pages to its conclusion. The instant spark between Lachlan and Katya, ignited the moment their eyes locked, is palpable. Their initial encounter takes place at Katya's sister's twenty-first birthday party, where she unwittingly captivates Lachlan with her mesmerizing dance. 

As the narrative unfolds, we journey to the present day, where Stasia, Katya's sister, seeks to escape a dreaded arranged marriage. This dire situation compels Katya to step into her sister's shoes and face another dreadful union with a menacing man. Lachlan, a formidable enforcer for the Irish mob, discovers this disturbing turn of events and takes it upon himself to intervene and halt the impending wedding.
