A Brush with Love by Mazey Eddings
5.0

My friend has been raving about this book since she read it months ago and became friends with the author. I was so excited that my ARC was approved and then I read it all in one evening because she was right--it is SO GOOD!
•The natural attraction and build up of Dan and Harper's relationship as they try juggle dentistry school, family pressure, and mental health felt genuine and drew me in.
•The treatment of mental health was respectful but realistic and the author note with included content warning at the start of the book is what we want to see!
•I loved the side characters, especially how forthright they were with each other and the MCs as their best friends.
•I love me a dual perspective, so being able to see the relationship from both Dan and Harper's points of view made it even better.
I want to thank NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC and bookstagram as a concept/community for the ability to connect us with authors--Mazey, I have already enjoyed chatting with you!
A Brush With Love will be released on Mar 1/22.

I don't know what it was, but this reread of these adorable weirdos hit me hard. The "I've got a crush and don't know what to do with my hands or my words" vibes are real and I felt them deep within myself as I read. It had been a while, and being back with Harper and Dental Dan was a joy and left me unexpectedly sobbing while reading the last however many chapters while these two first really didn't and then finally got it together.  Mazey, you brilliant storyteller, you!
