The Mirror picks up right from where Inheritance (#1) left off so you really need to read the first book before starting this one. Unfortunately though, again we are left with many questions unanswered and with the #3 (the final book of this trilogy) not due out until 2025 we will be waiting for a long time. I am not a fan of this but I love Nora Roberts books so wait I will do and jump for #3 as soon as I see it available!
In The Mirror, I grew tired of Trey. As he became more comfortable in his relationship with Sonya he became too "pushy", questioning too much and a little overbearing in my opinion. It made me cringe a little and I really wanted Sonya to push back a little bit more than she did.
***Slight Spoiler here*** My favourite part of this book was in the later part of the story when Sonya's grandmother was at the manor and was "speaking" to Drew's birth mother. It brought tears to my eyes. I read that section a couple of times. It was so well done.
Slightly creepy but believable, heartwarming, growing and deepening relationships between couples and best friends, with wonderful characters, in this world and otherwise, laced throughout the story.
Yet another great book by Nora Roberts and I am impatiently waiting for the finale!! I'll be keeping an eye out on Netgalley again in hopes of an earlier opportunity.
Thanks so much to Netgalley and St. Martin's Press for this early reading. I will be recommending it to everyone!
