Children of Blood and Bone by Tomi Adeyemi

Wow. This book was utterly amazing.

Books ove 500 pages always worry me. Is there fluff? Endless descriptions of useless things like mowing grass (looking at you Anna Karenina). But that is far from the case here. Children of Blood and Bone is a page turner from page 1. There is never a lack of plot movement or character development. Adeyemi wrote two strong young female characters. The world and magic built was done perfectly and I never felt confused or overwhelmed by the information. The concept was well done and I look forward to book 2.
