This was...okay. It was pretty good at parts. I really think Peter needed to take over because Soule lost his way after volume 1. This one is MUCH more focused. It's just a single storyline you can stay with without reading all the other bullshit that comes with it. Doomsday volume was horrible so this is a huge step up but not enough to be great.
This volume opens up with Lois and Clark out on a date. Bad shit goes down and they're saved by Wanderman! Never heard of him? Don't worry, nobody has. However, someone is pulling the strings and we have a war! Actually the whole volume is one big fight with some love life relationship advice spicing it up.
What I liked: The fights are fun and look good for sure. The dialog is snappy and easy to read. I like Lois and Clark even though it feels a little rehash it works. I also really LIKED Wanderman or whatever till the twist. The pacing was also solid and never bored.
What I didn't like: Saying I was never bored it never blew me away either. The whole thing was painfully average. Fun but not all that exciting? I also thought the villain was boring and needed more work to get me to care.
Overall it's around a 2.5. It's not great, it's not bad, just right in the middle. Readable, fun at times, but you can't help but wish it was just a tad bit better.
