Description: Ava Wong is talking to a detective about the counterfeit scheme she was strong armed into. Her life was a mess: Her child was rejected from all preschools and was constantly screaming, her husband was living in a different apartment for work and she felt extremely alone. When an old friend blew into town, what else was Ava to do? Ava didn't realize how deep she was in the situation until it was too late. So now, she's righting the wrongs by telling the truth...at least, that's what it seems. Will Ava tell the truth, or do darker secrets remain in the dark?

The good:
- The twist: immaculate. I was not seeing it coming
- The flow of the story was overall good, I appreciate the fresh perspective of switching from 1st to 3rd person.
- I liked the characters overall and felt they were fully fleshed out.
- I liked the timeline and the detail devoted to the counterfeit world.

The loss of a star: The beginning you are thrown in and I was thoroughly confused until about a few chapters in? This slowed down the story quite a bit because I could not understand what exactly was happening until a while into the book. I think if maybe I read a description or a spoiler free review, I would have not been so confused.

Overall: If you're looking for a fresh, light mystery with a great twist, this is the book for you.
