I kept getting stuck and bored at the beginning. I finally plowed through it, skimming a good portion because it could have been edited better (hundreds of pages could have been edited out). A novel that is a mystery better be entertaining if it's over 600 pages let alone two mysteries in this book.

There is suppose to be five more books, so one could argue that she is the middle slump of the series, much like what happened with Harry Potter.

Overall, it's meh. It's also supposed to be a miniseries on TV, so perhaps that it will redeem this novel.
