So the Wattpad anthology Women in War: The Real-life Agent Carters has really sent me down the S.O.E. whole. In finishing my second Vera Atkins biography, it's becoming clear that I can't get enough of this topic.
I enjoyed his biography a lot more than [b: Spymistress: The Life of Vera Atkins|571474|Spymistress The Life of Vera Atkins, the Greatest Female Secret Agent of World War II|William Stevenson|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1348716068s/571474.jpg|558506]. It was more engaging and it focused more on what I wanted to know. It wasn't a dry history. We got to follow the author as she actively tracked down secrets about Miss Atkins' past and I felt like I got a much better image of who she was as a person and her role in S.O.E.. Also, we got a better look at her work with the female agents and a detailed account inter her search to find out how they died and who was responsible. It's incredible what the women went through and what Miss Atkins' did to make sure that they got the recognition they deserved. I'm just blown away by this story and how it was executed and I applaud Sarah Helm on all the work she did for this. Bravo!
