I was told I should read this series YEARS ago and just never really got around to it. I am regretting that now, this first book was amazing. I have never read a werewolf trope that was so unique before.

The alternating chapters gave us a glimpse into both Sam and Grace's views and made the story deeper than it would have been otherwise. You felt empathy to both main characters, and many side characters as well through the voices of these two young people.

The writing was fantastic! So much description, but told in a way that it wasn't boring or droning, just interesting and painting a fuller picture. I felt like I could see Sam's yellow eyes, or the breath coming out in the cold air.

The end of this book could have been the actual end of the story, but luckily it's not. There is more and I can not wait to read it!
