3.5 ⭐️ on the fence of rounding up or down for this one. I didn't 100% hate it but didn't love it either, somewhere in between for sure.

Lora's world is on the verge of ending.....again. She decides to leave the world she has always know behind and go to the magik world even though she's always been told that it is a evil bad place. While there she needs a bodyguard, in comes Ghurston. She finds out that he is a higher being and things begin to get interesting between them.

I really liked the concept of this but I just could not connect with the characters or the world they were in. Even with it only being the first in a series, if I connect with characters or the world setting it would be by the end of the first book and this one I just couldn't. There were several parts that felt extremely rushed. There are also a lot of things left unexplained but it is only first in the series so hopefully they will be explained in later books.
