The Wicked King
by Holly Black
adventurous
fast-paced
Wow. I mean I liked book 1. It had great world building, as well as, character building. We got an idea for the different people living in the Fairy World-- the pecking order, the deceit, the death.
Then I waited til February to pick up book 2 and I am even more impressed with this one than I am the first one. This one begins five years after we left off and the action begins immediately. There are no lulls. No down time. Jude is trying to outsmart them all in her quest to keep Oak safe and keep power over our Wicked King. I truly loved this book compared to be book one and that ending.
I devoured this book-- though it took three days, I read it in three sittings between work, dinner plans, and finally finishing this morning after the gym.
