After her father passed away, Anabelle received an eviction notice at the beginning of the novel, and she had no alternative but to ask the mysterious Voss brothers at Midnight Manor for assistance. Anabelle begs Asher Voss to preserve her family's house when they first meet, and Asher responds by offering her a deal: in exchange for getting her property back, she has to live and work at the enigmatic manor for a year.
Anabelle learns there's more going on than she first believed as she explores the murky mysteries of Midnight Manor and the nuanced character of Asher. Anabelle is drawn to the Voss brothers' secret world and becomes determined to learn more about their enigmatic background, finally succumbing to the temptation to join it herself.
Although the writing is excellent and the story is captivating, there were a few predictable plot aspects and occasionally poor pacing. But overall, the novel kept me interested
The entire tone and mood of this novel were greatly enhanced by the narration on the audiobook in particular! The narrators, Rose Dioro and Marcio Catalano, are a great duo, and I really like their performance.
Overall, readers who enjoy mystery and dark romance will find Moonlit Thorns to be an engaging book. Even if it might not be flawless, if you like stories with a hint of gloom, suspense, and passion, this one is worth reading.
