The Weight of Blood
by Tiffany D. Jackson
Thank you to Harpercollins Audio for a complimentary copy of this!
This book was absolutely STELLAR! I have no clue where Tiffany can go from here but I can't wait to see. This is also a reminder for me to go back and read her prior books (with the exception is White Smoke).
If you have the option to listen to the audio of this, do it. It is a cast of characters and you won't be disappointed! There are 3 POVs: Maddy's, the podcasters, and other classmates (Kenny and Wendy)
This is a retelling of Carrie but taken place in modernish times (2014). This is a YA thriller but definitely can be read by all ages. It actually is an important read as it deals with race & how blacks are still being treated.
If you have read this and didn't see but Tiffany read the epilogue that goes beyond the book & answers some questions you may have.
Just like with here previously released book, White Smoke, Jackson has done it again with this amazing cover. It is probably one of my top of 2022. It is simple but yet so effective.
