I’m so conflicted with this one!
On one hand I did enjoy it and the characters. I really liked Ana and Rhett. I’m such a sucker for a bodyguard forbidden romance. I also enjoyed that Ana and Rhett were not enemies or have a needless “hate” for each other. They bickered a bit, but it was for fun haha
This book had everything I typically love.
But I just don’t think I was a fan of the writing style. It felt choppy. There were points where I was like wait what? And would have to go back to check because I missed something important.
The pacing was off with lots of time jumps that you might not notice at first either. Important moments at the end of the chapter were suddenly abandoned in the next with “two days later…” which left me wanting. Tension would build and build and then it was just… deflate.
I will say there was a lot of loving parts to this plot and that was very refreshing. There were lots of characters, lots of bad guys, and it was all pretty exciting.
There was a big cliff hanger at the end! So beware you’re gonna want to jump right into book 2!
