What a fantastic debut, exploring the complexity of Darius as he figures out who he is. Adib explores the the multi-faceted ways teenagers transition to adults, slowly separating from their families while holding on to the parts they most identify with. I loved that much of the story was set in Iran and how much that plays into Darius’ future self in America.

The audio of Darius the Great is Not Okay is fab and will leave you feeling not okay with the emotions portrayed.
