This series is going to be really interesting. I love stories about this kind of magic. I also really enjoyed the mystery that surrounds Shayna. She is an earth elemental but she seemed to be so much more. She was more powerful than her friends and I have a feeling that we are not done learning about some hidden talents from her. I bet there is a lot more to come from her.

I liked her two friends more than her sometimes though. Jodi and Steven were so funny and loyal. I loved how they stayed by Shayna's side the entire time! Even when she was being a little bit of a brat. Shayna was so headstrong that sometimes she came off kind of demanding and mean. I hope there is some growth to come for her in the next book. I did appreciate that she was able to admit when she was wrong at least.

Earth is full of magic and mystery and it is perfect for this month. I love reading magical books like this close to Halloween. I flew right through the story and it kept my interest throughout. I can't wait to see what is going to happen next.

I hope to see more of a certain boy in Shayna's future as well. ;) This has all the makings to become a really addictive series.
