I think if I'd read this a few years ago, I'd have been utter trash for it. As it stands, I enjoyed it. It was entertaining, if not a bit predictable. It was like a mishmash of all those YA series from 10+ years ago that I loved - Divergent / Shadow & Bone / Hunger Games / Eragon / Shatter Me vibes, and not in a bad way, just in an hmmm I've read this before, but it works like this too.

Not rushing to read the second book at the moment.
