Too Bright to See
by Kyle Lukoff
Forgoing a formal review because honestly it made me go through so many different emotions, some of which were entirely unrelated to the contents, that I'm too biased. I'm glad this book exists. I'm so glad we finally get to see a trans story that starts with someone who doesn't see themself as their preferred gender, or even necessarily know that's something they can want.
Four stars because I felt like the ending was a little rushed; in general this book just could have been a little longer. Also because I reserve five stars for books that really blow my mind, I'm picky. But yeah, read this and get it for your middle reader kids, trans or not; it's a good ghost story and a beautiful coming-of-age.
