I read this book in a single sitting and didn't want to put it down.  I really like the plot, the worldbuilding and most of the characters, especially the main character. 

I do feel that the second half of the book is significantly stronger than the first. I also did have some issues with the writing, understandably with a debut by a self-published author - for example there were times when I felt that minor but important events were skimmed over too quickly or not shown at all but referred to in hindsight. I think with some tweaks this could have gone from a book I enjoyed to one I absolutely loved. 

Overall I did really like this book and would recommend it. Before even finishing the Kindle version I had ordered a physical copy and I'll definitely be keeping my eye out on future for the sequel and anything else written by Wend Raven.
