Delicate
by Gemma Donoghue, Rachel Zachary
1.5⭐️ rounded up.
I feel like the author could have benefitted from researching the lived experiences of ED impatient. I was hovering at 2.5ish⭐️ prior to Part 3 (the last 25% or so). There are copy editing issues, and the narration gets its personhood jumbled up near the end, but I can handle that. What I can't handle is being whiplashed out of a book so fast I literally reel.
Donoghue's understanding of ED treatment is just so egregiously bad. I cannot believe that she had ever talked to anyone that has been through it. And honestly, that's disappointing because I could relate to Lydia and her struggles beforehand.
Bummer.
