So we get to the second book with Slappy and all I can think is, "If this book was for older kids then this dummy would definitely be stabbing people instead of painting words on walls in the middle of the night. " BUT this is what will enable young readers to think of those WHAT IF moments for themselves as they get older and then realize just how scary Slappy and dolls can really be! There's a reason there are still so many horror movies centered around these tiny terrors. R.L. Stine did it again, but way back in 1995! 4 stars!
