I have to think on this and get back to you..

OK, the writing is phenomenal, the way King draws you into each character and immerses you into the town of Derry is genius. The feel of Derry begins to creep right into you. Its not always Pennywise that is scary, its the towns way of looking past all of the horror that's occuring.
I went into this book not knowing if i would even make it halfway through. The movie scared me as a kid and i've not been OK with clowns ever since. The book scared the absolute shit out of me. It wasn't in your face horror, it didn't use overly gruesome scenes to shock and scare you, it just slowly built up the level of fear within the characters and at the same time you as a reader. We learn it all alongside the characters which i think makes a reader more invested. I slept with the light on at least twice. The first half of this book was easily the best King i'd ever read and then i feel like it kind of came loose at the end. Then the scene happened, you know the one, with Bev. I felt ill, it seemed so out of place, i don't think the chapter fit, nothing about it felt like it belonged within this book. I know King has brushed off people's issues with the chapter but I really think there could have been a better way to get his point across.
The chapter completely ruined my reading groove, i didn't want to read the rest, i had to force myself and i read it with a bitter taste in my mouth.
It's a great read, skip the shit chapter and it could be your best read this year.
