This was such a fun book and a great sequel to The Stolen Kingdom. Being a great blend of both a Little Mermaid retelling and the continuation of Arie and Kadin’s story from the first book made some of the twists and turns very unpredictable and, I’ll be honest, things did not go exactly the way I thought they would. Which is a exactly what I want in a book because, in the end, I want to be surprised. I also loved getting Rena’s point of view, with her fun and quirky personality and her unique perspective on things. Learning more about both Rena and Gideon’s backgrounds, along with the Mere and Jinn in general, both answered some questions from the first book and also brought up a whole slew of new ones that are still waiting to be answered. I can’t wait to read the last two books and see how these stories all wrap up in the end.
