I Let You Go
by Clare Mackintosh
Safe Haven meets You
Trigger warning: domestic abuse, sexual assault, car accident, dead child, stillbirth, murder, grief, harming of animals, survivors guilt,...
Overall I was underwhelmed and couldn’t understand any of the characters. I don’t get the hype to be honest.
I can’t get behind someone who’s so brainwashed (Jenna) and the parts that were in second person from the abusers perspective were chilling but towards the end I just felt disgusted and I also didn’t like the detective part because that’s just not my cup of tea.
It’s not 1 star because of the twist in the middle but after that nothing surprised me I knew she didn’t drive that car. Toward the end I really didn’t care that it was Ians son.
And I can’t believe that the police let‘s the domestic abuse victim that tells them she’s going to be killed go home unprotected!!!! So stupid
