Outer Banks meets Schitt’s Creek in this wild young adult mystery thriller! Casey status as a “Charmie” is no longer when her family suffers a huge loss in the stock markets. Now demoted to “Downstreamer,” Casey falls in with an unlikely group of friends on the hunt for lost treasure. But in the hunt, they might end up with more than they bargain for.

I think the fact that I read this book in 3 days speaks volumes! This was seriously that unputdownable! I loved that the core friend group was very Goonies-like—albeit, they’re teens and not children—and each had their own strengths and weaknesses they brought to the group and story. I especially loved how there was a character (no spoilers!) who was very red-herring-esque and very interesting. The storyline was so well done and I haven’t read something this entertaining in awhile!

Beyond that, I did think the end was a bit rushed but still satisfying, and I thought the underlying themes of classism and racism were expertly woven into the story. Overall, I loved it, and highly recommend it if you enjoy treasure hunting stories!
