I know VE Schwab doesn’t like to compare her books to each other but this book did remind me of Addie LaRue in many ways. Not just because they both explore immortality, but also because of how the story and the prose move languidly, sort of dreamily.

I get why some readers can find it boring, but her writing is so beautiful and I’m always so intrigued by her characters that I don’t care how long it takes, I’ll go anywhere VE Schwab wants to take me.
