Vance is the youngest in the Hale family and I absolutely loved him. Despite what occurred in the previous books of this series with Vance, he is actually sweet, caring and a good friend. He makes a pact with his friend and the moment he meets Emery he is tempted to break that pact.

Emery is a woman on a mission. She has motivation for everything she does. Honestly, she is BA and I love her. I mean the woman can crack safes like it is no ones business. She isn’t afraid of Vance and he is one person she can trust to help her on mission.

The chemistry between Vance and Emery is off the charts. I loved the two of them together from the start. Even when everything was fake between them, there was still something more between them. I loved how perfectly they fit together and how well they worked together.

Not only is there plenty of steam, but there is mystery and suspense mixed in which I loved. It added a whole new level to everything going on between Vance and Emery.
